About our NGO
Villages Future Network is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Registered and duly recognized by the Government of Kenya and recognized by the NGO Coordination Board, Reg. No. NGO-53FQK2, dated 4th October 2024. The idea and activities of this NGO began way back in 2017 when the founding Director, Rev. Dr Walter Akuno mooted the idea of assembling widows and supporting them especially during chrismas holidays. Initially started with about 30 widows, at Kanam village in Homabay, by offering a token of gifts to the vulnerables, this scheme has now grown to cover over 150 women.
Both in Siaya and Homa Bay Counties. Support to the widows during Christmas seasons and throughout the year has now been broadened to cover various charitable works including clothing, housing, educating the orphans among others and it continues throughout the year.
